MANDALUYONG RANKS NO. 1 IN "QUALITY OF LIFE"

The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Policy Center has ranked Mandaluyong Cit as No. 1 in terms of "Quality of Life" among 90 best performing cities in the Philippines.

In its Philippine Cities Competitiveness Ranking Program released recently, the AIM Policy Center noted that the study was aimed at identifying the best cities in the country in which to "live, work, and do business in".

Mandaluyong was cited for its balanced growth and development and where the improvement in lives of people is significantly achieved.

Mandaluyong, which has been touted in 2003 as the "Tiger City of the Philippines" because of its tiger economy, was also cited by the World Bank as the most business-friendly city in the country in terms of registering property.

"Despite the fact that Mandaluyong is one of the country's smallest cities, we are getting bigger achievements.  The synergy of our people is the key to our success," stressed Mayor Benhur Abalos, also the current president of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines and the League of Cities of the Philippines.

The study as conducted in collaboration with the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Labor Organization (ILO), SM Investments, and the Petron Corporation.
