RSVP
The word or letters, RSVP, is always a part of formal invitations. It comes from the French words, Respondez S’il Vous Plait. Translates to English, it means Respond If You Please. Some even use Please Respond and then a date or Please Respond – Regrets Only. Whatever and however, etiquette dictates that we reply. It is only fair and polite to let someone know SOMEHOW if you can or cannot attend an event. Otherwise, it will show your lack of social grace.
